Data

The Czech Vegetation Database adheres to the FAIR Guiding Principles for scientific data management and stewardship (Wilkinson et al. 2016). It is an open resource available under the CC-BY license, allowing data to be shared and adapted, provided the source is cited and any changes are indicated.

Data can be obtained from this website, either as the full database (CzechVeg-Open) or as a spatially and environmentally stratified subset (CzechVeg-Open-Strat), which is suitable for analyses at the national scale. The same datasets, with DOI and versioning, are available in the Zenodo repository.

Data from the Czech Vegetation Database are also available in international vegetation-plot databases. For analyses at supranational scales, data should be requested through these databases:

• EVA – European Vegetation Archive, for analyses at the international scale within Europe
• sPlot – Global Vegetation Database, for analyses across regions larger than Europe

Species occurrence data from the Czech Vegetation Database are available in species occurrence record databases:

• Pladias – Database of the Czech Flora and Vegetation (Chytrý et al. 2021)
• NDOP – Species Occurrence Database of the Nature Conservation Agency of the Czech Republic
• GBIF – Global Biodiversity Information Facility

• The article above should be cited whenever data from the Czech Vegetation Database are used, together with a reference to the website czechvegetationdatabase.github.io.
